Compare square and wide image areas, host paths and the exact cable and accessory package.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Both selections expose dedicated instant film and contain an internal battery. SQUARE gives a square image, while WIDE provides a wider image on different film. Neither printer accepts the other film format. A contradictory SQUARE wireless table is disclosed, not converted into an extra connectivity feature.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Measure the image opening separately from the sheet
The SQUARE image area is 62 x 62 mm on an 86 x 72 mm sheet. WIDE image area is 62 x 99 mm on an 86 x 108 mm sheet. The border is part of the finished film, not additional picture area. Neither format should be described using the other printer sheet size.
Keep software support and source conflicts explicit
The global SQUARE specification lists Bluetooth 4.2 BLE, while the US page technical table lists IEEE 802.11b/g despite advertising Bluetooth app use. Wi-Fi support is therefore not asserted here. The current WIDE source documents an iOS/Android app or Windows/MacOS driver; that does not mean every operating-system version is supported.
The manufacturer describes approximately 12 seconds from image recording to ejection for these printers. Instant film then develops; the advertised approximate 90-second development time is a separate condition. The standard selections exclude film. WIDE lists a stand and strap; the original Link WIDE manual specifies Micro USB charging, while SQUARE uses USB-C.
These manufacturer specifications do not establish measured performance, noise, long-term reliability or running cost. We have not independently tested these products. Check current prices, stock and operating-space instructions with the seller and manufacturer.

The documented physical method used to produce the photograph.
Dye-sublimation and exposed instant film use different consumables and development steps; a resolution number is not a quality ranking.

Image area or finished sheet dimensions, explicitly distinguished.
A film sheet includes a border. Compare image area with image area, not a picture opening with the full sheet of another printer.

Manufacturer-listed wireless printing interface and any unresolved source conflict.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are different connections. Check the exact app or driver and do not assume an unsupported wireless mode.

Built-in battery
Whether the printer contains an internal battery as standard.
An optional external battery is not a built-in battery and is not included unless the selected package explicitly says so.
