Choose between a Kobo-focused reading workflow and an Android reading device while preserving water and pen limits.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Both are 7-inch color readers with optional pen support, but their software paths, storage and water-protection claims differ. The BOOX selection is Gen II, not the original Go Color 7. App flexibility is not a guarantee that every service works identically on e-paper.

Package and specification details
Choose the content workflow first
Libra Colour provides the Kobo reading ecosystem with supported file transfers and documented cloud paths. Go Color 7 Gen II runs Android 13 with Google Play. Check each required app, account, library and DRM path; an app store does not promise unrestricted access to purchased books.
Compare storage and pens without changing the package
The selected Libra has 32 GB nominal storage; BOOX has 64 GB and documents a microSD slot. Kobo Stylus 2 and the compatible BOOX InkSense or InkSense Plus are separate optional accessories. Their presence in illustrations does not put them in these reader-only packages.
Kobo publishes IPX8 conditions up to 60 minutes in 2 metres. BOOX explicitly says its water-repellent design is not waterproof and is not intended for immersion. Both manufacturers describe 300 PPI black-and-white and 150 PPI color content; those figures do not establish equal contrast, handwriting latency or durability.
These manufacturer specifications do not establish measured performance, noise, long-term reliability or running cost. We have not independently tested these products. Check current prices, stock and operating-space instructions with the seller and manufacturer.
The exact display description, with separate color and monochrome density where documented.
Keep device generations separate and preserve the source distinction between color and black-and-white content.
