Two monochrome readers: compare a 7-inch 64 GB Android device with pen support and water repellence against a 6-inch 16 GB Kobo. The Kobo has IPX8 protection and no pen support.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
The Go 7 has a 7-inch 300 PPI Carta 1300 display, 64 GB of nominal storage, optional InkSense pen support and Android 13 with Google Play; it is water-repellent but not waterproof. The Clara BW has a 6-inch Carta 1300 display at 1448 by 1072 pixels, 16 GB, no stylus support and an IPX8 rating for up to 60 minutes in up to 2 metres of water under Kobo's conditions. Weights are 195 g and 174 g. Both have adjustable warm and cool front lights.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Compare the screens and storage as published
The Go 7 is a 7-inch 1680 by 1264 monochrome display at 300 PPI with 64 GB nominal storage. The Clara BW is a 6-inch 1448 by 1072 display with 16 GB; the US table gives pixel dimensions without a separate PPI figure, so none is inferred. Both offer adjustable front-light brightness and warm or cool colour temperature.
Kobo rates the Clara BW IPX8 for up to 60 minutes in up to 2 metres of water under the stated conditions. BOOX describes the Go 7 as water-repellent against incidental exposure, not waterproof and not intended for immersion. These are different promises, not two versions of the same one.
The Go 7 supports the optional BOOX InkSense or InkSense Plus pen, which is sold separately, and runs Android 13 with Google Play, subject to app, account, DRM and firmware requirements. The Clara BW does not support the Kobo Stylus and uses the Kobo store and supported files such as EPUB and PDF, with audiobook and library borrowing conditions. The US Go 7 listing includes a USB-C cable and card-tray tool.
No. The Go 7 is a monochrome reader, and the original Go Color 7 is a different generation from the Go Color 7 Gen II. Use only the named model column when comparing.
