QIDI Q2 Combo vs Bambu P2S Combo

Decide whether the print needs an actively heated chamber

Q2 specifies a separate chamber heater with a 65°C maximum; P2S retains heat and controls airflow without an active chamber heater. If your chosen filament requires a heated chamber, this is the first distinction to check. Q2 also lists a 370°C nozzle limit against P2S’s 300°C. These are equipment limits, not evidence that Q2 produces stronger or cleaner parts. Check the exact filament’s processing instructions before choosing.

Check the two horizontal print dimensions

Q2 lists 270 × 270 × 256 mm of print space; P2S lists 256 × 256 × 256 mm. Q2 provides 14 mm more on each horizontal axis, with the same nominal height. That can matter for a specific part, but inspect its orientation and complete sliced job before relying on the difference.

Choose the included feeder package

These starting options include one QIDI Box or one AMS 2 Pro, each with four spool positions. P2S Combo also lists a filament buffer. QIDI’s Standard selection excludes the Polar Cooler bundle. Extra feeder units and advertised system-wide color limits are separate purchases; neither starting package contains sixteen or twenty loaded positions.

Before selecting a bundle, check the exact printer and feeder package.

Match the filament to both printer and feeder

Both printers list TPU, but their feeders restrict ordinary flexible grades. QIDI Box excludes generic TPU and TPU 95A while listing TPU 64D; AMS 2 Pro excludes generic TPU while listing Bambu TPU for AMS. Reinforced-filament exceptions are also grade-specific. A printer material listing does not promise automatic feeding of that material, so check the exact spool and feeding route.

Include drying power and firmware in the decision

QIDI documents Box drying during printing. Bambu’s current guide allows simultaneous drying and printing on P2S from firmware 01.02.00.00, with an official external AMS power adapter. Without that adapter, P2S cannot heat, move or load filament while powering drying. The adapter is an additional requirement, not an item established in this Combo inventory. Bambu also lowers drying temperature during printing according to the loaded materials. Check those conditions rather than treating both drying functions as identical.

Allow space for the complete arrangement

QIDI calls for extra clearance around the printer without a numeric envelope. Bambu’s US page recommends 500 × 500 × 950 mm, but does not fully qualify the feeder layout or label the axes in that recommendation. Keep door, cable, ventilation and feeder access in your workspace plan. The comparison does not certify a desk fit from printer-body dimensions.
