Compare your intended object with 256 mm and 180 mm print dimensions, then check the working setup.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Choose between A1 and A1 mini by checking the size of the objects you intend to print. A1 lists 256 × 256 × 256 mm; A1 mini lists 180 × 180 × 180 mm. Both starting options are open, printer-only packages. Each also has a separate AMS lite Combo; the feeder does not change that printer’s build volume.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Prepare an object you expect to print
The difference is 256 mm on each listed build axis for A1 versus 180 mm for A1 mini. Build axes are the two horizontal directions and height. Check the dimensions of a representative object, then inspect it in print-preparation software for the intended printer. A model’s placement and the complete prepared job can affect fit. Avoid choosing from a single dimension or total volume alone.

A Combo keeps the same printer size
The starting table uses the printer-only packages. Their separate Combo options add AMS lite, an automatic filament feeder. The A1 mini Combo still uses the A1 mini printer, and the A1 Combo still uses the A1. If you need the larger print space, adding a feeder to the smaller printer does not provide it.

Check materials and the feeder route separately
Both machines are open printers. Look up the exact filament you plan to use in the printer’s material guidance. If you choose a Combo, read the AMS lite restrictions as a separate check. A material listed for a printer does not establish that it can pass through every automatic feeder. Keep any conditions beside the comparison result.

Measure the place where it will run
A1 mini has the smaller listed build volume, but that alone cannot give you a desk-size recommendation. Compare body dimensions and follow the setup instructions for the complete arrangement, including any feeder. Operating clearance is not verified here. If both printers accommodate your intended jobs, compare the exact package and current seller terms before deciding.

Can I use build volume to decide whether a printer fits my desk?
Build volume describes print space. Use the separate body measurements and manufacturer setup guidance to assess the working arrangement. This catalogue does not verify an exact operating clearance for either printer.

Evidence limits
These documented differences do not establish print quality, noise, long-term reliability or running cost. We have not tested the printers. Check current prices, stock and operating-space instructions with the seller and manufacturer.
These are manufacturer specifications and seller package details. We have not independently tested the printers. Open a source to see the original page, when it was checked and how it was retrieved.
“Not verified” means we cannot confirm the value. “Sources disagree” means the available sources conflict. Neither should be read as a confirmed no or zero. “Not applicable” means the field does not apply to that option.
A source-check date records when the evidence was reviewed. It does not confirm today’s price or stock. Search-engine copies of official pages may be older than the seller’s current offer.

Assembly needed
How much you need to put together. A kit needs assembly; an assembled printer may still need some setup and checks.
Look through the maker’s assembly guide. Check the tools and steps, then decide whether you want to do that work before your first print.

Automatic feeder included
A device that feeds filament—the plastic strand used for printing—from one or more spools. Spool slots tell you how many it holds for automatic selection.
Check which materials the feeder accepts. A printer may handle a material that its feeder cannot. Extra feeders or adapters may cost more.

Check all three measurements against the objects you want to make. Leave room for any supports added when preparing the print. A larger print area fits larger objects; it does not promise better print quality.

Enclosed printer
An enclosure is a cabinet around the printer.
Check which filaments the maker recommends and whether ventilation is needed. A cabinet alone does not make every material suitable or the air safe to breathe. Check the heating row separately if your filament needs a warm printing area.

How the printing area is heated
How the air around the print stays warm. A cabinet may hold heat from the print bed, use a separate heater, or control airflow with fans and vents.
Check what your chosen filament needs. “Temperature controlled” does not always mean a separate heater is included. Ask the maker if the method is unclear.

Space needed while printing
The room the printer needs to move, open and be used, beyond the size of its body.
Check the setup instructions before choosing a desk or shelf. Allow access for loading filament and removing prints. If this measurement is missing, ask the maker; the body size alone is not enough.

Included nozzle material
What the included nozzle is made from. The nozzle is the small outlet that lays down melted filament.
Check your filament’s nozzle requirements. Filament containing carbon, glass or other abrasive fillers may need a harder, wear-resistant nozzle. Budget for a replacement if the included one is unsuitable.
