Two AcuRite display packages with lightning detection that differ in measured quantities, app compatibility and documentation age.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Both selections pair an integrated 433 MHz outdoor sensor with a Wi-Fi display and include lightning detection. Atlas adds UV and light intensity and lists Weather Underground connectivity. Optimus works with AcuRite NOW only and AcuRite says it is not compatible with My AcuRite, AcuRite Access or Weather Underground. Both were backordered when checked.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Start with the services you plan to use
If you share data with Weather Underground or already use My AcuRite or AcuRite Access, the Optimus compatibility note rules it out. The Atlas bundle page lists AcuRite NOW and Weather Underground, although its 2021 display guide still describes My AcuRite setup. Confirm the current app path before buying either.
Both sensors report temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, and rain, and both packages include lightning detection. Atlas also lists UV index and light intensity, which the Optimus sources do not. Neither package includes a separately placed rain collector.
Optimus documents records, a 48-hour timeline and Flex View layouts on its 7-inch display. The Atlas guide describes today and yesterday records on the display, with detailed charts online. Neither source documents a local file export.
Both outdoor sensors need 4 AA batteries that are not included. Optimus can instead use an optional 06051M solar pack. Each includes a bracket or adapter, but neither lists a pole. Atlas recommends AAA backup batteries for its display, which are also not included.
