Include the uplink in the port budget
A connection to the router consumes one of the supplied ports, leaving fewer for computers, storage and access points. Count what must be connected now and what may be added. Both selections are unmanaged; adding ports does not add a user-configured segmentation or routing policy.

Keep aggregate and single-link rates separate
TP-Link publishes 25 Gb/s aggregate switching for the five-port model and 40 Gb/s for the eight-port V2. Neither figure is the speed of a single device connection. Actual file transfers also depend on storage, client adapters and the negotiated cable link. No throughput benchmark is claimed.

Do not transfer old power figures to V2
The inspected US tables state 12.11 W for TL-SG105-M2 and 8.45 W for TL-SG108-M2 V2. These are stated maxima from different model tables, not a controlled finding that more ports save energy. Confirm the revision and included US supply. Both list fanless desktop/wall installation, which still needs appropriate ventilation.
