Compare 222 with 388 sq ft at the same air-change rate

Levoit lists Vital 100S-P for 222 sq ft and Vital 200S-P for 388 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour (ACH). ACH expresses how many room volumes the stated airflow corresponds to in an hour. The same pages advertise 1,066 and 1,862 sq ft at only one ACH. For a 300 sq ft room, only the 200S-P reaches the listed area at 4.8 ACH. Measure the full connected space and account for ceiling height: EPA sizing guidance uses eight-foot ceilings and advises allowing more capacity for higher ceilings or an open floor plan. Levoit does not state a ceiling height beside these specifications.

Keep 143 and 250 CFM in the unnamed CADR row

CADR means clean air delivery rate; CFM means cubic feet per minute. The reviewed US pages label their numbers only as CADR, without specifying smoke, dust or pollen. We therefore retain 143 CFM and 250 CFM as unnamed-particle figures while smoke, dust and pollen ratings remain unverified. Unknown does not mean zero particle removal. EPA guidance explains that CADR is usually measured at the highest speed and that lower speeds filter less air. Neither page gives a Sleep Mode CADR, so the published coverage should not be treated as a verified overnight result at the quietest setting.

Check the larger body against your intended position

The published body dimensions are 12.6 × 6.3 × 16.0 inches for Vital 100S-P and 15.6 × 8.5 × 19.8 inches for Vital 200S-P. The 100S-P is the smaller unit in all three listed dimensions. That can decide a small-room purchase when both coverage and placement work. Allow room for airflow and filter access: body measurements alone do not establish operating-space fit. If your space exceeds 388 sq ft at the chosen 4.8 ACH basis, neither listed area supports the whole space at that rate.

Auto and app control are shared; fan mode still matters

Both US listings describe an infrared dust sensor, Auto Mode, Sleep Mode and VeSync control with schedules and filter information. The 200S-P US manual documents four manual speeds, including turbo, but ordinary Auto Mode does not select turbo. Its app offers separate Quiet and Efficient Auto modes. Those are useful operating distinctions to check before relying on maximum airflow. The current 100S-P page links a manual with a different regional model code, so we do not use its control layout to declare a button or mode advantage over the 200S-P.

Buy the replacement filter for the exact Vital series

The standard parts are named Vital 100S Replacement Filter and Vital 200S Replacement Filter. Their official pages explicitly identify the corresponding 100S-P and 200S-P series. Match that series when ordering; a specialty Pet Allergy, Smoke Remover or Toxin Absorber replacement is a separate choice. Both starting purifier packages include installed prefiltration and main/carbon filtration plus an AC adapter. Neither includes a spare replacement in this comparison. Use the package instructions beside the merchant links, then confirm current contents and filter availability with Levoit.

Separate washable prefilter care from replacement cost

Both standard-filter pages suggest replacement every 6–12 months. The 200S-P US manual instead gives 12 months, adjusted for use and environment; it calls for prefilter cleaning every 2–4 weeks and says not to clean the main/carbon filter. The linked 100S-P manual identifies AUSR rather than the product page’s WUS model, and gives 9–12 months in its maintenance table but about nine months in the following text. These are different published estimates, not guaranteed filter life. Follow the instructions supplied with your exact unit and inspect filter condition. Compare current replacement prices without assuming identical annual consumption.

Leave the electricity-cost comparison open

The 100S-P US page identifies LAP-V102S-WUS and 35 W; its linked manual identifies LAP-V102S-AUSR and 32 W. The 200S-P page says 50 W for LAP-V201S-WUS, while its model-matched WUS/KUS manual says 51 W. Both power ratings remain unresolved; the comparison shows each source’s figure. Even a confirmed rated input would not establish consumption at each fan speed. Choose between these packages using the supported room-area and size differences; a measured running-cost or noise winner is not established.
