Choose between native host display streams and a hybrid DisplayLink workflow with revision-specific charging.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Both are desktop docks, but they do not generate displays in the same way. Decide which software your computer can run and which native display capabilities it exposes before counting the sockets.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Separate the display technologies
TBT4-UDZ does not use DisplayLink. UD-6950PDZ combines a native DisplayPort Alt Mode path with two DisplayLink paths. The latter require software, while the native path still depends on the computer. A connector count alone cannot explain this distinction.
The UD-6950PDZ HDMI and DisplayPort sockets are paired alternatives. Selecting both connectors in one pair does not establish another independent screen. Use the documented layout and host mode rather than turning every socket into a promised monitor.
Keep software permissions and package revisions visible
DisplayLink outputs require supported software and, on macOS, the documented permissions. The selected UD-6950PDZ charging revision is 100 W, while older units were 60 W. TBT4-UDZ identifies 98 W certified charging. Confirm the actual package before treating those figures as interchangeable.
No. The manufacturer support explanation distinguishes the dock from separately added DisplayLink devices.
