Compare two 140 W Thunderbolt 5 docks by charging conditions, power arrangement and display sockets.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Both document up to 140 W host charging over Thunderbolt 5. They differ in how the dock itself is powered, how the display sockets behave and the Ethernet rating. Start with the computer’s protocol and charging standard, then plan the displays.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Check how the host negotiates 140 W
Anker documents 140 W under PD 3.1 and at most 98 W for a host limited to PD 3.0. CalDigit documents up to 140 W to a compatible host from its 330 W adapter. Whether a laptop accepts that power still depends on its own charging support, not on the dock headline.
The Anker dock has a built-in power supply and ships with a 6 ft AC power cable and a 3.3 ft Thunderbolt 5 cable. TS5 Plus uses an external 330 W power supply and a 1.0 m braided Thunderbolt 5 cable. Confirm the US mains cord for either package before ordering.
The Anker HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 sockets cannot be used together, and its front USB-C ports carry no video. Further displays use its two Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports, within host limits. For TS5 Plus, use CalDigit’s host and display matrix rather than counting sockets.
Can the Anker HDMI and DisplayPort sockets drive two screens?
No. Anker states that only one can be active at a time; if both are connected, the DisplayPort monitor is selected.

TS5 Plus documents 10 Gb/s with host PCIe and Windows driver conditions; Anker documents 2.5 Gb/s. Neither figure is a measured file-transfer speed.

Prime Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station (14-in-1, 8K) (US package)140 W needs a PD 3.1 host (28 V 5 A); under PD 3.0 the dock offers at most 98 W, which Anker attributes to Thunderbolt 5 certification. Prime Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station (14-in-1, 8K) (US package)HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 cannot be used together; DisplayPort takes priority. The two Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports also carry video; the front USB-C ports do not.
