SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD vs Samsung T7 Shield: 2TB
Two black 2TB drives with 10 Gb/s USB-C and manufacturer IP65 claims: compare the published speeds and encryption evidence. What each package lists as included is covered.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
Both 2TB packages use USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gb/s and claim up to 1050 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write. Both pages claim IP65. The SanDisk page lists AES 256-bit hardware encryption with password support that excludes USB-C smartphones, and includes a USB-C to USB-C cable and USB-C to USB-A adapter. For the T7 Shield, hardware encryption, password software and the complete packing list were not established by the reviewed page.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Treat the speeds as equal published maxima
Both drives list the same 10 Gb/s interface and the same up-to figures of 1050 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write. These are manufacturer claims that need a compatible host, cable and workload; no independent benchmark is claimed, and a faster host port will not raise them.
Compare the encryption evidence rather than assuming parity
SanDisk documents AES 256-bit hardware encryption and excludes USB-C smartphones, including Android, from password and hardware-encryption support. For the T7 Shield, the reviewed manufacturer page did not establish hardware encryption or password software; that is missing evidence, not a confirmed absence.
Check the protection claim and the box for the exact revision
Both pages state IP65 under manufacturer test conditions, which is not protection against every liquid or damage scenario; confirm the supplied SanDisk revision because an older unit may be rated differently. SanDisk lists a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter; Samsung's retrieved page did not establish a complete packing list for part MU-PE2T0S/AM.
