Advertised sequential read maximum

Sources disagree

Host, workload and test conditions matter; this is not a sustained-performance benchmark.

OWC gives one real-world sequential read/write (max) figure rather than separate read and write maxima, and the same 2TB store page states it as both up to 992 MB/s and up to 1011 MB/s. Neither is a CompareFoundry measurement.

Advertised sequential write maximum The source-qualified maximum for the reviewed capacity. Do not transfer a different capacity's rating. Conflicting source values remain unresolved.	Sources disagree The sources give different answers, so we have not chosen one as fact. Read the attached notes and confirm the current specification before relying on it. No separate write maximum is published. OWC's combined read/write figure appears as both 992 MB/s and 1011 MB/s on the same page; OWC states a lower sustained write rate only for the 4TB model. Documented ingress protection The maker's rating and its stated conditions. A rating is not an unconditional damage guarantee. Do not infer an IP rating from a drop claim.	IP67OWC describes it as dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion for up to 30 minutes at less than 1 meter; the store page says waterproof and the user guide says water resistant. Manufacturer rating, not protection against every exposure or damage. Sources · 2026-10-21 OWC: OWC Envoy Pro Elektron 2.0TB OWCENVPK02: US store pageChecked 2026-10-21. Hardware encryption documented Whether the reviewed source explicitly documents hardware encryption. Unknown is not no. Read the software and host limitations beside this field.	Not verified We have not verified this value. It is not a confirmed no or zero. Check the original source or ask the manufacturer if it affects your choice. Neither the store specifications nor the user guide document hardware encryption. This is not a confirmed absence. Password and software conditions Requirements and unresolved limits of the documented protection workflow. Do not confuse an operating-system encrypted volume with a manufacturer-supported hardware-password workflow.	Not verified We have not verified this value. It is not a confirmed no or zero. Performance conditions The scope of the stated performance claims. Use independent measurements for sustained workloads; the catalogue does not claim to have benchmarked these drives.	OWC's speed claim comes from its own testing of an OWC Aura Pro III-equipped unit on an iMac Pro with AJA System Test and DiskTester; results vary with host, files and settings. No independent benchmark is claimed. The user guide says slow Windows transfers may need the disk removal policy changed to Better performance. Questions to check before buying	OWC publishes one real-world sequential read/write figure rather than separate read and write maxima, and the 2TB store page gives it as both 992 MB/s and 1011 MB/s; neither value is settled here. The drive ships formatted APFS for Mac and iPad and OWC lists boot support as Mac only; Windows, ChromeOS and Android users must reformat it first. Hardware encryption was not established.
