Check drive length and shape first
OWC lists 2230, 2242 and 2280 and discusses single- and double-sided drives. Satechi's Important Info lists 2230 to 2280, but its FAQ names only 2242, 2260 and 2280 and excludes double-sided drives and drives with heat sinks. Confirm a 2230 drive with Satechi; 2260 is not in the reviewed OWC list.
Satechi requires Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 or USB4 for optimal use and lists slower rates for some iPad and iPhone hosts. OWC documents different host modes, and legacy USB hosts run at a lower rate. Neither nominal link rate is a file-transfer benchmark.
Satechi uses a tool-free pin design; OWC is screw-secured and includes a screwdriver and a 0.3 m 40Gb/s cable. Satechi's box list names only the enclosure while its FAQ refers to an included USB4 cable, so confirm the cable before relying on it. Neither package includes an SSD.
These manufacturer specifications do not establish measured performance, noise, long-term reliability or running cost. We have not independently tested these products. Check current prices, stock and operating-space instructions with the seller and manufacturer.
