Express 1M2 provides a 40 Gb/s USB4 path; USBC-NVME uses a 10 Gb/s USB bridge. Both are empty NVMe enclosures. The more useful choice depends on the host you have and the SSD you will install.

Check the complete host path
OWC documents different host modes rather than promising its top rate on every USB-C socket. Plugable remains a 10 Gb/s bridge even on a faster port. Confirm the computer, any dock and the supplied cable before paying for the higher link. Neither specification establishes sustained file-copy performance.
Plugable lists 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280. The reviewed OWC list names 2230, 2242 and 2280. Do not assume a 2260 drive fits OWC because it fits another M.2 enclosure. OWC explicitly discusses single- and double-sided drives; actual components and thermal-pad placement still require the installation instructions.
OWC includes a screwdriver and a 0.3 m USB-C cable for its screw-based enclosure. Plugable uses a tool-free arrangement and provides USB-C and USB-A cable paths. Choose the connection you need for the actual computers. Neither package contains an SSD, and a metal enclosure alone does not prove a thermal-performance winner.
