Dash cams

What this catalogue covers

Consumer dash cams for cars sold new in the US as one, two or three channel packages. Fleet telematics cameras, rear-view-mirror cameras, action cameras, installation or wiring advice and measured video-quality rankings are outside this catalogue.

Specifications come from the linked manufacturer documents and seller listings. We have not independently tested these products.

Before you choose.

How many directions should the package record?

A front-only camera, a front and rear set and a three-channel set with a cabin camera are separate packages. Count the cameras that are actually in the box, not the ones the front unit can accept later.

What resolution does each channel record in your configuration?

Manufacturers list resolution and frame rate per camera combination. A front camera that records 4K alone may pair with a lower-resolution rear channel, and HDR or a high frame rate can exclude each other.

What does parking mode need, and what else must you buy?

Parking recording usually needs constant power from a hardwire kit, OBD cable or battery pack. Check whether that cable, a microSD card and any connected-service plan are included in the exact package.
