Both scan through a connected computer and list 600 dpi optical resolution. Choose by integration: the D35 documents TWAIN and other standard drivers, while the iX2400 uses ScanSnap Home and a ScanSnap-specific driver without TWAIN. The iX2400's nominal feeder is twice as large; the D35's OS support statements need checking for your host.

Start with the software that receives the scans
Xerox Scanners lists TWAIN for Windows and Mac plus WIA, ICA, SANE and ISIS in the D35 datasheet, though its product page names only TWAIN and WIA for Windows. Ricoh specifies ScanSnap Home with a ScanSnap-specific driver and no TWAIN for the iX2400. If a document-management application must control the scanner directly, the D35's driver list is the relevant evidence; still verify the exact application and host.
The D35 lists 50 sheets of 20 lb paper; the iX2400 lists 100 A4 sheets at 80 g/m2. Both are nominal maximums that change with paper weight and condition. The D35 also documents a long-document mode to 236 in and plastic ID cards, while the iX2400 lists no manual scan mode.
Both advertise 45 ppm / 90 ipm, but under different conditions: the D35 at 200 dpi or 300 dpi in b&w or grayscale, with 35 ppm / 70 ipm at 300 dpi color, and the iX2400 at A4 colour 300 dpi. These are manufacturer figures, not measurements after OCR, file transfer or upload.
The D35 page lists both older requirements (Windows 7 SP1 to 10, Mac OS X 10.14 to 11.2) and newer support (Windows 11, 10, 7, macOS 11 to 15, Linux), so confirm current drivers for your system. Its box includes a USB cable with unstated connector types and a power plug adapter. Ricoh says a USB-C-to-C cable is not included with the iX2400.
No standalone destination is documented for either. The D35 can be shared over a network only through software on its host PC, and the iX2400 uses ScanSnap Home over USB.

Xerox Scanners publishes conflicting OS support: Windows 7 SP1-10 and Mac OS X 10.14-11.2 in the requirements versus Windows 11, 10, 7, macOS 11-15 and Linux in the specifications.
ISIS and SANE appear in the datasheet and feature bullets but not in the product page's Windows driver list; verify the driver for the exact host and application.
The Xerox brand is used under licence by Visioneer; no physical scan, OCR or network-sharing test was performed.
ScanSnap iX2400 (US standard package)
