Write down the computer configuration first
Start with the computer model, operating system, port protocol and GPU. Then identify the required displays, resolutions and refresh rates. A dock can distribute the capabilities it receives, but a similar-shaped port does not establish every advertised mode. Treat manufacturer compatibility matrices as documented conditions, not as an installed-system test by CompareFoundry.
Distinguish native displays from DisplayLink
A native display uses capabilities from the host video path. DisplayLink is a different software-driven arrangement. The UD-6950PDZ combines both; TBT4-UDZ is not a DisplayLink dock. Write down the software and permissions needed for each output rather than assuming every screen works before installation. Alternative HDMI and DisplayPort sockets must not be counted as independent displays.
Separate three power questions
Ask how the dock itself is powered, what it can offer to the laptop and what remains available to peripherals. These are not the same wattage. The Thunderbolt Go Dock uses built-in power, whereas the selected CalDigit docks list external supplies. The UD-6950PDZ has a charging revision change under the same model number. Confirm the actual box, host cable and regional mains cord before comparing power as a purchase feature.
Check network features through the host connection
A fast Ethernet socket needs a supported host path, the correct driver and a suitable network. TS5 Plus explicitly qualifies its network feature by host protocol and PCIe support. Network link speed also differs from file-transfer throughput. Do not promise a faster backup just because one connector has a higher nominal rate.
Validate the complete workflow, not just one port
The final check is the intended laptop, all displays, charging and the peripherals used together. Review wake, reconnect and software requirements before depending on the setup. This catalogue does not claim benchmark, driver-installation, protected-video or universal compatibility testing. Missing evidence stays unknown. English and Spanish describe the same US packages, not different regional hardware.
Common questions
Do all USB-C docks support the same displays?
No. Host protocol, native display capability, software and paired-output restrictions must be checked separately.
Does translating the page create a different regional offer?
No. Both languages retain the same US model, package and original seller selection.
