A portable screen is useful only when the computer can send the required signal and the monitor has enough power. Treat video, power and touch as separate connections to verify, even when one USB-C cable can carry more than one of them.
Read the port specification, not its shape
A USB-C port may serve different purposes on different computers. Check the display mode required by the monitor and the exact capabilities of the host. A documented software-based video path is different from native DisplayPort Alt Mode, and can introduce driver requirements. Do not assume a USB-A adapter supplies a native USB-C display signal.
Account for power separately
With USB-C, one cable may carry image and monitor power when the host supports the required combination. With mini-HDMI, plan another power source. Pass-through charging also depends on the supply, cable and laptop, and its wattage is not the same thing as monitor consumption. A maximum adapter rating is not a promise of the power arriving at the laptop.
The VA1655 source has inconsistent charging figures. The comparison keeps that uncertainty rather than choosing the larger figure. Its guide also treats the power adapter as optional, so confirm what the selected US box actually includes.
Compare the native mode
The selected screens use Full HD resolution, but their sizes and refresh capabilities differ. MB16AHG specifies 144 Hz while the other selected native modes are 60 Hz. An input-frequency range can include values that apply only to other timings. Check native resolution and refresh together instead of using the highest number on a timing table. Neither a higher refresh nor an IPS label proves measured gaming or colour performance.
Verify touch from finger to application
Touch input must travel back to a supported host, not merely receive video from it. TD1655 documents a vTouch route for Mac and excludes iPhone and iPad from that touch path. Check current driver support rather than assuming a historical operating-system example is still sufficient. A passive pen and an active pressure-sensitive pen are also different devices; the included passive pen is not evidence of a drawing-tablet feature set.
Keep exact suffixes and packages
ThinkVision M14, M14t and M14d are not interchangeable identities. The Lenovo option here is the original US part 61DDUAR6US, with accessible hardware evidence and an explicitly incomplete US packing list. Likewise, ASUS regional accessory notes are not a confirmed US cable bundle. Record the exact model and anything that must be obtained separately before ordering.
CompareFoundry has not tested image quality, host compatibility or touch drivers on these monitors. Use the source-backed table to create a shortlist, then verify the intended connection and review the unresolved rows. A product page and a working local website preview are not a physical monitor acceptance test.
Common questions
Is a charging-only USB-C port sufficient?
No video support is implied. Check the display signal and any documented driver-based alternative for the exact monitor.
Are all accessories shown in manufacturer images included?
No. Use the exact package list and retain regional or missing-content qualifications.

The US technical table specifies 144Hz, two USB-C inputs and mini-HDMI. Listed accessories explicitly vary by region; exact US contents require confirmation.

Official indexed US product text. Power wording differs across marketing and SKU sections; no numeric pass-through charging limit is selected from that conflict.
- VA1655 manufacturer HTML specificationsChecked 2026-10-11
Native recommended 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz remains distinct from the wider input-frequency range. This is VA1655, not a similarly named later revision.
- VA1655 manufacturer HTML user guideChecked 2026-10-11
The guide treats the power adapter as optional. Display input, cable contents and external power are separate requirements.
- TD1655 US touch-monitor specification and host requirementsChecked 2026-10-11
Official indexed US text identifies 10-point touch and requires vTouch for the documented Mac touch path. iPhone/iPad display compatibility does not establish touch support. Direct retrieval failed.
- TD1655 manufacturer HTML specificationsChecked 2026-10-11
Recommended native mode is 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz, not the maximum vertical-frequency number. Hardware specification is not an installed touch-driver test.
