Host requirements Required interface and operating conditions. Using a faster host port does not upgrade the enclosure bridge. Formatting and file-system support are separate.	Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 or USB4 Type-C ports are required for optimal use; USB 3.2 Gen 2 and older hosts run at lower rates. The listed iPad Air (M4, 2026) is limited to 10Gbps and iPhone 17e to 480Mbps. Satechi says exFAT is needed for use with a PC.
