Birdfy Feeder 2 vs Feeder 2 Pro vs Feeder Metal 2 4K
Compare three Birdfy packages: Feeder 2 without solar, Feeder 2 Pro with a 3 W panel and the 4K Metal 2 with built-in solar. The single-lens and dual-lens cameras and the account-level free recognition rules they share are covered.
The decision in brief
How the options differ
The three selections differ mainly in camera and solar. Feeder 2 Standard has one 1080p wide-angle camera and excludes the optional solar panel; Feeder 2 Pro adds a 2K portrait lens and includes a 3 W panel; Metal 2 4K Upgrade has a 4K camera, a built-in 2 W panel, a 1.8 L bin and dual-band Wi-Fi. All three share Birdfy's free account allowance of up to 10 identifications per day across covered devices, and none supports microSD playback. The Metal 2 page's lifetime-AI claim conflicts with the newer membership FAQ.

The buying guide
Package and specification details
Match the camera and solar package to the view you want
Feeder 2 Standard records 1080p video from a single wide-angle camera and ships without a solar panel. Feeder 2 Pro has an upper 2K portrait view and a lower 1080p wide view, with a 3 W solar panel included. Metal 2 4K lists a 3840 by 2160 capture resolution with a built-in 2 W panel and a 9000 mAh battery. Seed capacity is 2.5 L for both Feeder 2 models and 1.8 L for the metal feeder.

Read the recognition entitlement that applies to the exact offer
Birdfy's free membership identifies up to 10 Moment videos per day shared across an account's covered devices, with 20-second clips retained 30 days and 5 GB of Collection storage. The Feeder 2 store also describes a 7-day AI trial. For the Pro selection, an unlimited-AI entitlement is not established. The Metal 2 4K specifications advertise lifetime AI while the general FAQ places newer 2026 models in membership-era offers, so that field is recorded as conflicting.

Check charging, Wi-Fi and local storage
Feeder 2 charges at DC 5 V / 1 A and Feeder 2 Pro at DC 5 V / 1.5 A; Metal 2 4K charges over USB-C at 5 V / 2 A. The Feeder 2 models need 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, while Metal 2 4K lists 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi with Bluetooth pairing. Feeder 2 and Feeder 2 Pro use cloud storage only, with no microSD; Metal 2 4K states that microSD replay is unavailable and other local recording is unverified.

Common questions
Does buying two Birdfy feeders double the free daily identifications?
No. The free allowance of up to 10 identifications per day and the 5 GB Collection storage are account-level and shared across covered devices, not fresh allowances per feeder.
